I am constantly conflicted as to whether I should work on having a closer relationship with my family and not doing it because it has only ever led to disappointment on all sides. I know my mom and I never will be able to because she can’t see past her preconceived notions of how I should live my life. But my dad and I used to be really close. Now we talk maybe once every one or two months. Plus side, my sisters and I seem to be okay.
